(1)In general, English songs can improve students’ interests of learning English. English songs can also attract students’ attention to the knowledge what they will learn. As well as, students can feel happier when they listen to the English songs. But English songs play different roles in different teaching procedures.

 In the part of “Lead-in”, students and the teacher sing the English song “Old MacDonald had a farm” together. Singing the songs can provide an English learning atmosphere for my students . At the same time, students can know they will learn some animals today. 

In the part of “consolidation”, students feel tired and some students cannot concentrate their attention. Students and the teacher can listen and sing the song “Old MacDonald had a farm” again. Students can imitate the different animals. In this way, students can not only relax themselves but also consolidate the words of animals that they have learnt.

   At the beginning of the class, the teacher plays a song named “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”. Students can sing the song together. After that, the teacher asks one question “What can you hear in the song?”, then invites some volunteers to share their answers.
