The pie chart accurately represents various reasons for university students’ travel in their leisure time away from school. 37% of the students sampled travel to enjoy the beautiful scenery through their wide-ranging expeditions. 33% of the students want to ease theirstress. By contrast, the percentage of the students traveling for other reasons, making friends and cultivating independence, make up 15%, 9% and 6% respectively.
Several major factors could account for this phenomenon. First, traveling can serve as an experiential method for university students to reset from the stressful lifestyle and gain new perspectives. Meanwhile, as China’s gross domestic product continues to grow, travel has been more affordable for Chinese citizens and enables them to engage with different cultures to cater to their individual needs and interests.
Considering all the above factors, we may believe that with the rapid pace of campus life and increasing pressure, the number of university students touring will continue growing in the future.
